We believe the best way to care about forests is to know them.

Our stories start conversations. Our work explores what responsible stewardship looks like in the real world.

Adventures of Chip and Squeak

Forestry has never been quite this… starchy.

Meet Chip, a potato forester with a handlebar mustache and a deep affection for forests, and Squeak, his small but spirited chipmunk companion. Their adventures help young readers discover how forests work and why stewardship matters.

Our Story

Stewardship starts with curiosity.

Steward & Sprout grew from a simple idea: forests are fascinating, and the stories we tell about them matter. We pair imaginative storytelling with real-world experience to make forestry and conservation understandable, engaging, and worth talking about.

From children's books to thoughtful perspectives on natural-resource policy, we're interested in the same question: how do we leave forests better than we found them?
